Synophsis
The Gipsy Christ is a documentary which shows how El Sacromonte, the famous neighbourhood in Granada, every year, during Wednesday at Holy Week, covers with fire to receive The Gipsy Christ and Holy Mary of El Sacromonte. It is one of the most universal examples of the Spanish Holy Week.During the long hours that the procession takes, the most common religious devotion exists side by side with the traditional gipsy enthusiasm of such a traditional neighbourhood. The formal processions give way to the gipsys´ excitement with their songs and dances to the Christ to the rhythm of saetas, alegrías and soleás.
